Egg Inedible
Spray dried eggs for use in animal and pet feeds
What is Egg Inedible?
Shell eggs are transferred to the inedible processing facility and converted into a nutrition desirable animal feed ingredient. Eggshells are separated from the liquid egg, dried and used as a calcium supplement or applied to fields to provide important nutrients for crops.
Why use Egg Inedible?
Brown caramel coloring is added to the inedible liquid egg, as a denaturant to clearly show the product is not for human consumption. The inedible liquid egg is then filtered to remove eggshell fragments and pasteurized to kill pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms. It is then dried in a modern spray drier for minimum protein damage. A small amount of free-flow agent is added to prevent the formation of hard lumps in storage. Multilayer bags are filled with Inedible Dried Egg and placed in a clean warehouse for distribution.
