What is Ag-Bond?

AG-BOND is a most unique proprietary blended pellet binder used to make superior pelleted and extruded products. It binds ingredients and forms an outer protective layer that also works as a waterproofing agent for fish and shrimp feeds. (Floating or sinking rations)

Why use Ag-Bond?

During the pelleting or extrusion process, and cooling, ingredients react with starch and soluble proteins to form partially insoluble complexes, which have adhesive capabilities. The end result of this process is a hard, water resistant pelleted feed that bonds and holds the ingredients together for longer periods of time, especially in aquatic conditions where pellets must not break apart. When AG-BOND pellets are fed in water, they swell, do not crack, but keep their internal integrity without breaking up like most aqua pellets. Tests have shown AG-BOND pellets to be in tact after 20 hours in water.
